Marcus Lim
Professional Background

Who Marcus Is

Marcus discovered his passion for accessibility design while volunteering at the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped during his university years. He realised how inaccessible many websites were for people with disabilities — and that realization changed everything.

Over the past 12 years, he’s progressed from a junior UX designer at a fintech company to leading accessibility initiatives across multiple organizations. His 3-year tenure at the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) was particularly formative, where he helped establish accessibility guidelines for government digital services that now guide how Singapore builds public websites.

What drives Marcus is straightforward: the belief that accessible design amplifies voices in underserved communities. He’s mentored dozens of young designers in Ang Mo Kio who share this vision, and he combines technical expertise in WCAG standards with a deep understanding of local community contexts. At AccessLearn AMK Pte Ltd, he’s led the development of comprehensive accessibility frameworks that have benefited over 8,000 learners across Singapore.
